On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, Opulence Pictures Co-Founders Daniel Couts and Nika Finch were invited to speak at the Indo-UK Leadership Summit in London to explain more about the film industry, how it works, and how cinema is an extremely powerful tool in educating audiences around the world. The event concluded the following day—Thursday, November 2, 2023—at the House of Lords, with an exclusive award ceremony held by the International Book of Honour, England, awarding Couts and Finch, among other speakers, for their contribution to humanity.
Indo-UK Leadership Summit—Day One
The Indo-UK Leadership Summit, organized and sponsored by organizations including KAMKUS London, the KARMA Foundation, and India Today, aims to "foster stronger ties and collaboration between India and the United Kingdom," with the goal of improving mindsets and benefiting humanity.
Among other guest speakers, Couts and Finch presented separate speeches with the combined theme: "Shaping Mindsets Through the Magic of Cinema." Couts highlighted the power of entertainment in telling inspirational stories and positively influencing audiences around the world, followed by Finch who delved deeper into the business behind films, and how it has changed after the COVID-19 pandemic.
International Book of Honour Award Ceremony at the House of Lords—Day Two
On the second day of the summit, selected guests were invited to the House of Lords at the British Parliament for an exclusive award ceremony hosted by the International Book of Honour, England, and co-hosted by members of the British Parliament Baroness Verma, and Virendra Sharma. Other guests included KAMKUS founder Dr Diwakar Sukul, and celebrity actress Manisha Koirala.
During the award ceremony and accompanying lunch, some guests were honored, receiving awards for their contribution to humanity. Among them, Couts was awarded "for his role in positively influencing audiences through the medium of movies, using cinema as a powerful tool for inspiration and positive impact," and Finch was presented with an award "for her significant contribution in exploring the positive influence of movies on audience mindsets, fostering a better understanding of the cinematic medium's impact."
